You can get tinned and dried chick peas from Santos Organics online

- 600g dried organic chickpeas (alternative use tinned organic chic peas)
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 100ml olive oil
- 2 tablespoons tahini paste
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup (60ml) water
- salt to taste
- cover the chickpeas in water and soak overnight
- Once drained add to a pot of water and bring to the boil
- cook the chick peas for 30-45mins depending on how firm / soft you like your chick peas.
- add the chickpeas, lemon, garlic, olive oil, salt and water to a food processor ( I have done this in a mortar and pestle in a pinch or my Oscar Juicer) and combine until your happy with the consistency and voila hummus.
- Serve with chopped vegetables, Turkish bread or biscuits.
